Communication staff at 18 Bible translation organizations across Africa need professional training to tell God’s stories well. In November 2026, a one-week workshop in Ruiru, Kenya will teach practical skills like writing, photography, design and video. Then, six months of follow-up support will continue to strengthen networks and create a collaborative culture of sharing God’s stories widely and effectively.

Summary
Across Africa, God is moving. Communities are receiving the Bible in their own language for the first time. Lives are being transformed. But too often, these stories never become known beyond the place where they happen.
Why? Because not enough people are trained to recognise and report these stories to a wider audience. Among 18 Bible translation organisations across Africa, communication staff are doing their best—but without formal training in news writing, interviewing, photography, video and social media. Many also work in relative isolation without the chance to exchange ideas and collaborate on stories. The result: Amazing stories remain untold, and the people who could be praying, giving or getting involved never learn about the opportunities.
This project changes that. For one week (2-6 November 2026) in Ruiru, Kenya, communication staff from those 18 Wycliffe Global Alliance organisations will come together — not just to sit in a classroom, but to actually create. Using smartphones and free tools, they will learn to capture the moments that matter: local communities and churches collaborating; a translation team’s challenges and creative solutions, groups engaging with Scripture, lives being transformed. Attendees also will build plans for how their organisations will keep telling these types of stories long after the workshop ends.
Then, over the ensuing six months, this same group will keep coaching, encouraging, and learning from each other — turning 18 separate voices into one strong, unified story of what God is doing across Africa.
