Community. Collaboration. Christlikeness.

ENGAGING WITH THE WYCLIFFE GLOBAL ALLIANCE

‘Meeting people from different parts of the world, understanding their challenges and seeing how Bible translation impacts different cultures in different ways has helped me understand the global nature of the work we do.’

—Alliance organisation leader at the Global Gathering, Johannesburg, 2024

Our Covenant

(Statement of Commitment)

Each Alliance organisation signs a Covenant/Statement of Commitment with one another, stating their intention to participate in the Alliance community and in the mission of God.

‘May we all proceed together in a posture of humility and inclusion,
paying particular attention to voices that have not been heard
in the midst of power dynamics.’

— Stephen Coertze, Alliance Executive Director

Participation Streams

God has equipped and gifted each Alliance organisation so that it can minister not only in its own context and culture, but also contribute to our collective, global work together.

The Alliance’s seven Participation Streams are:

  • Church
  • Prayer
  • Funding
  • People
  • Bible Translation Programmes
  • Training in Bible Translation Roles
  • Specialty Services

‘The corporate world produces volumes on leadership, but less on followership.
If our journey is to follow God’s leadership as he accomplishes his mission
and allows us to participate, we have a very different story …”

—Susan Van Wynen, The Journey Concept

Projects

We coordinate collaborative projects that benefit the entire Alliance or a significant number of Alliance organisations. These projects are funded by Alliance organisations and they reflect our values—that each organisation has the capacity and the opportunity to participate in the life of the Alliance.
