Agnes Lid has been appointed Interim Executive Director of the Wycliffe Global Alliance.
She succeeds Stephen Coertze, following a decision by the Alliance Board of Directors.
‘This decision reflects the board’s year-long prayerful consideration of the leadership needs of the Alliance in this next season’, said Acting Board Chair Susanna Muntz.
The board affirms Stephen’s good Christian character and exemplary ethical conduct, she said. The board also holds deep appreciation for Stephen and his decades of faithful service and substantial contribution to the Alliance and the wider Bible translation movement.
Agnes also serves as Director of Wycliffe Norway and is the outgoing Alliance Board Chair.
‘The board is grateful that Agnes has agreed to serve in this interim capacity,” Susanna said. “She brings experience and prayerful wisdom during this time of transition and as we search for the next Executive Director of the Alliance.’
‘This is very much an interim role,’ Agnes said. ‘I am honoured to help provide continuity for the Alliance during this ongoing process of discernment.’
The Alliance invites its global community to pray for all involved during this season of transition.
